Q Magazine Double Page Spread
This Double page spread is from the magazine 'Q'. The layout of the magazine is neat and well presented, with a large picture of the artist 'Lady Gaga' on the left side and then text on the right side. There is no title on this double page spread, only the full A4 size image of the main focus of the article, with the artist been well recognised you don't need a title, but her name is displayed in the upper right hand corner. This gets the viewers to automatically read on further to find out the exclusive information that Q has to offer of one of the most famous woman in the world of the moment. The way Lady Gaga is featured wearing a outfit and posing in a way which would entice readers would find the female form attractive. The editors of the magazine have ensured the article has arousing and sexual content, as it sells well. Gaga is presented to the audience as being multi-genred as she is well known for her pop music, but also being capable to sway into a more rockstar role. The image is a medium close up of Lady Gaga featured on the left hand side of the double page spread, taking up half the article, showing that the image has significance. The photo has been digitally edited from colour to greyscale effect. This means that the double page spread can focus on the three main colours, black, red and white. These colours anchor the genre of Q magazine. The enlarged vibrant red 'L' is featured behind the text not only to alias but also the colour of it anchors Q magazine style. The use of the text separated into 3 colums making it have a long effect making the page look bigger, the font size is small so that more information on the article can be placed onto the oppisite side of the image, the text is very simple so it draws more attention to the image rather than the text, so the main focus point is the image.
NME Double Page Spread
This double page spread of the well know 'NME' music magazine. As you can see one half of the page is dedicated to an image and then the otherside an article. On the left hand side which includes the image of Pete Doherty, and this image usually relates to the front cover picture used. The model pose is a casual look whilst holding alcohol beverages, everything about the picture is casual from the clothes that he is wearing and the body lanuage. The image looks like a dusty, dull also looks like in some senses sepia effect has been used to give it a brigher effect to enlight the models facial features. It looks as thought the background of the model is set outside giving a sense of freedom is been allowed which would draw in the readers attention. The title overlaps the image on the left hand side in the middle of the page the text is in line with each other, whilst being spacious making the page look a lot bigger. The colour of the title is orange and white creating more light on the page, but also i think it creates a crisper and clean look to the page. On other half of the page it includes an article about Pete which is seperated into 3 colums to make it look more organised a easy to read. On the left hand side of the right side of the double page spread the use of the letter 'A' draws the attention of the reader, due to the large font size making you look on the article. So both sides of the double page spreads can be seen as the main focus point to the reader. What I like about this double page spread is the use of variety texts, this makes it look very professional even with the grunge look it has to it, and from this page you can tell it's a typical rock/indie magazine from the use of colours as it has a dirt look to it.
Q Magazine Double Page Spread
Q magazine double page spread and the first thing you notice is the main image and the colours used because it's grabs the readers attention. Typical colours that are associated with America is the red, white and blue for the American flag and you get a sense it's the american flag that the model is sitting on because of the colour use and the main title 'USA got the love'. The use of the clours black and grey giving the double page spread a shadow effect, drawing more attention to the main picture making it the main focus point as the photo takes up about a page and half making the picture look more interesting and exciting for the reader. The fonts used in the article give it a sophisticated look, to go with the singers pose that makes the magazine professional. The use of colums on the right side of the page helps make the article look both neat and organised, but also acts to break up the text making it easier to read without looking too long and boring. The overlap of the image on the 'USA' text making the picture again be the focus point. The title USA shadows behind the image senses that both of these take up most of both pages is significant to the double page spread and even the magazine.
